Snowline Living Well with Dementia: Addressing Challenging Symptoms Educational Series

Snowline Living Well with Dementia: Addressing Challenging Symptoms caregiver educational series covers a variety of dementia related behaviors that can be challenging. Topics addressed in the series are communication, sleep disturbances, late-day confusion, inappropriate behaviors, agitation/aggression, depression, hallucinations/delusions, getting lost, and nutrition. These no-cost monthly offerings are available to the general community, last approximately 90 minutes, and allow time for questions and answers. As part of this educational series, our Dementia Care Manager or MSW will be available to provide a one-time consultation for behavioral management training and support in the home of the person with dementia and their caregiver free of charge.

Snowline Living Well with Dementia Support Group & Activity Enrichment Group

The support group’s goals are to provide a welcoming, non-judgmental space to promote emotional and physical health, sound caregiving strategies, awareness of resources, problem-solving, stress reduction and personal growth.  Attending this group should be seen as self-care.  Depending on the group’s size, meetings will last 60-90 minutes to allow all to participate.
Groups are available for caregivers and those living with mild cognitive impairment or dementia. See the link to register online for caregiver groups. Please call us at the Dementia Connection(530) 621-7820 to register for people with dementia.  A simple assessment conversation is needed to identify the best group for each individual.

Snowline Dementia Educational Sessions for Providers and Caregivers of Those With Intellectual Disabilities

The Snowline Dementia Connection offers a National Task Group on Intellectual Disabilities and Dementia Practices Regional Trainer as well as six different sessions of training for both providers and caregivers of those with intellectual disabilities.  Below are our offerings – dates for these classes with be coming soon!  Please reach out to us for more information.

Community Education

Dementia Connection staff offer education to local businesses, faith communities and medical professionals. These classes are scheduled on-site to host organizations for approximately 60-90 minutes and help bring dementia awareness to employees or community members so that they can better meet the needs of individuals with dementia. These engaging, interactive presentations focus on their audiences’ needs and level of medical knowledge. Continuing education units are offered for many disciplines.
